PIDGIN E CRIOULO

O que acontece quando duas línguas entram em contato?

Quando povos de línguas diferentes convivem intensamente, surgem:

- empréstimos linguísticos;

- adaptações;

- variedades de contato;

- e, em alguns casos, pidgins e crioulos.

Vamos então entender o que é um pidgin e uma língua crioula.

O QUE É UM PIDGIN?

Pidgin é uma variedade de contato criada para comunicação prática entre grupos sem língua em comum.

Características dos pidgins:

- vocabulário reduzido;

- gramática simplificada;

- comunicação funcional;

- não é uma língua materna inicialmente

Contextos em que surgem:

- comércio;

- colonização;

- migração.

Mas então como nasce uma língua crioula?

Quando crianças passam a aprender um pidgin como língua materna, surge uma língua crioula.

Assim nasce uma nova língua e diferente do pidgin, o crioulo:

- amplia o vocabulário;

- desenvolve gramática complexa;

- ganha estabilidade;

- torna-se língua da comunidade.

Ou seja, o crioulo não é “português errado”, nem “francês errado”, é uma língua completa.

Exemplos reais de línguas crioulas:

- Crioulo haitiano: base lexical francesa. Exemplo: Bonjou = “Bom dia”;

- Crioulo cabo-verdiano: base lexical portuguesa. Exemplo: N ka sabe = “Eu não sei”;

- Crioulo guineense: base lexical portuguesa. Exemplo: N tene dus mangu = “Eu tenho duas mangas”.

Uma língua influencia a outra, mas isso não cria automaticamente uma nova língua.

O português, assim como outras línguas do mundo, recebe influência do inglês, considerada por muitos, uma língua global, mas isso não significa que surgem novas línguas dessa influência!

Para surgir uma língua crioula, são necessárias:

- condições sociais específicas;

- contato intenso;

- formação comunitária;

- transmissão entre gerações.

- Línguas estão sempre mudando;

- Contato linguístico acontece o tempo todo;

- “Criar uma nova língua é um processo social e histórico complexo;

- Pidgins e crioulos mostram como seres humanos constroem comunicação mesmo em situações extremas.
